Are you a blogger who needs help accomplishing everything on your to-do list?
Do you make long elaborate lists and then get sidetracked?
Do you skip the lists altogether and just work on the stuff you like?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, this may be a great opportunity for you. The 12-Week Blog Growth Strategy is a course to help bloggers prioritize, stay efficient and on track with their goals.
My Experience Of The 12-Week Blog Growth Strategy
I bought Kim Anderson’s 12-Week Blog Growth Strategy within the first few weeks after it’s release, primarily because I’m a huge fan and I know how much value Kim puts in everything she shares with the world.
If you’ve never heard of Kim Anderson, she’s a full-time blogger and blogging coach. She’s the creator of The Thrifty Little Mom and the author of Live. Save. Spend. Repeat: The Life You Want with the Money You Have. She’s also the creator of the popular podcast Just Keep Blogging and a blogging coach at Kim Anderson Consulting.
Why I bought it…
So, I bought The 12-Week Blog Growth Strategy because I am a chronic procrastinator and I have a pretty serious problem with only doing the “stuff I like” while neglecting the “stuff I don’t like.” And since I know and trust Kim as a person, a coach, and I’ve followed her story of blogging success, I figured it couldn’t hurt to try her blogging strategy.
I finished the course in an afternoon. It was light, informative, and helpful.
When I completed the course, I had a 12-weeks of blog posts titles, 12-weeks of subscriber emails, a weekly plan to complete my first course, and a weekly plan to complete a course on Pinterest. Plus, I had everything scheduled in Trello with dates.
It was AMAZING!
I’d never (EVER) felt THIS organized with my blog.
The crazy part is that the momentum that I got from the course stuck.
It actually stuck!
I’m 8 weeks into my first 12-week blog growth strategy, and I’m seeing tangible results. I’m currently:
- Publishing consistently on my blog (something I struggled to do)
- Cranking out 2 posts a week as opposed to 1.
- Killing it on Pinterest.
- Emailing my list weekly (ok, almost)
- Consistently reaching my course-creation milestones
With those things on (almost) auto-pilot, I have time to plan my affiliate strategies for my blog posts, emails, and social media. Being creative with my blog design and sales page creation (stuff I like) is actually not keeping me from the stuff I don’t like (social media).
If you never finish anything, this course will help…
So, last year I read (correction: listened on Audible) The 12-Week Year: Get More Done in 12 Weeks than Others Do in 12 Months. It’s a great book—fantastic actually. The book makes you believe that you too can be organized and accomplish your goals.
Then reality hits.
The book gets shoved in the corner and since you stopped working to read the dang book you’re more behind than you were when you started. (Does that just happen to me?)
Right.
If this isn’t your life experience, bless you. But if you’re anything like me, implementation is a…an issue.
Then comes Kim’s course, The 12-Week Blog Growth Strategy. She’s obviously read the 12-Week Year, but instead of just implementing the strategies in the book for herself, she created a custom blogging strategy to:
- Inspire bloggers to get started
- Create processes
- Be consistent
- Set realistic (slightly stretch) measurable goals
- Strategically break down larger goals into small chunks you can actually accomplish
I’m a course-aholic. I love to buy them. I get excited to start them, but I NEVER finish them.
This course is different.
It’s highly valuable. Easily executable content that you can do in max 3 hours and that’s the absolute maximum amount of time I think it’ll take.
Features Of The 12-Week Blog Growth Strategy
Currently, the 12-Week Blog Growth Strategy has 9 lessons. First, you’re led through the reasons bloggers don’t make forward progress and then the course quickly teaches you how to prioritize, plan, and schedule your priorities using a variety of provided and suggested free tools.
Format
So, one of the things that I love about this course is the formatting. Kim writes out the entire course, AND she also records the audio of her reading through the ENTIRE course. So, depending on how you learn and how much free time you have, you could either read over the entire course (in minutes) and complete the accompanying worksheets OR you could listen to Kim’s happy voice while you fold clothes, chase kids, cook dinner or take a walk.
Bonuses
When it comes to planning and scheduling, my problem is always execution. I’ve never been able to find the absolutely perfect planner. I always start these things and end up frustrated that my calendar or my process is flawed.
With the 12-Week Blog Growth Strategy, Kim solved this problem. Her bonuses are the extra step we all need to not only finish this course and all others but also implement them.
So you’re probably wondering…
What are the bonuses and what makes them so awesome?
Ok, right now, Kim offers 5 bonuses. When I bought the course, there were 4, but she’s added an awesome fifth! I’m going to share each of them with you AND explain they’re so helpful to new, intermediate, and stuck bloggers.
1. Blog & Editorial Calendar in Trello.
If you follow Kim, listen to her Just Keep Blogging Podcast (check it out) or you’re a remember of her Just Keep Blogging Facebook group, you know the woman loves her some Trello. For people (like me) who’ve tried every planner known to man but still can’t find the exact right one, planning in Trello is actually just as amazing as Kim bills it to be.
In this training, Kim teaches you how to set up your blog and email editorial calendars in Trello. She includes how to add dates, add notes and outlines, as well as how to actually track your progress. Now, I’m pretty much a walking Trello salesperson. #obsessedtrellogeek
2. 12-Week Blog Growth Strategy in Trello.
This is also pretty much worth the whole course. In this video training, Kim shows you how to put your whole 12-week plan in Trello. You can access (and update) the plan on your laptop or from your phone when you’re waiting at the dentist office. No need to carry around an actual planner. You can actually do everything in Trello and Kim give you a step-by-step video tutorial.
3. 12-Week Blog Growth Printable Planner
For folks who still like the feel of paper, Kim created freakishly detailed printable planner to document your 12-week blog growth strategy planning. I love having a plan on my phone AND it was also super helpful to print out these forms AFTER I hashed out my plan. I put my written copy of 12-week plan in a monthly blogging binder.
4. Blog Post (Printable) Process.
I’m not process-averse but when I first started blogging, I had no clue if I was doing the RIGHT thing. And I was afraid to document a process for fear that it was a BAD one. So for the first year of my blogging life, I just kinda did whatever I could as the mood struck. Kim solves this problem. She’s shared her blog post process. It’s a beautiful thing to know what a successful blogger does EVERYTIME before she publishes a piece of content.
5. Kim’s personal blogging processes.
She’s documented everything from her blog post processes to her subscriber email template, including keyword planner, headline generator, how she plans to use affiliate links, and create calls to actions. Again, Kim’s a REALLY successful blogger. For real, her engineer husband was able to quit his job! That’s pretty dang successful. If her processes are good enough for her, you better believe they’re AMAZING for me. And I follow them now like an instruction guide.
**The bonuses, alone, sell this course. They’re freakishly amazing, and it’s these bonuses that actually help you implement all of the prioritizing, planning, and scheduling that her course invites you to start doing.**
The Price
You already know there are umpteen gazillion blogging courses available. Each one promising to revolutionize your blog. The 12-Week Blog Growth Strategy is different. For $49, Kim doesn’t promise to fix your blog, skyrocket your traffic, or multiply your subscribers. The purpose of the course is to transform YOU!
That’s it. Blogging is a mind game. According to Kim, success comes when you “Just Keep Blogging.” So her goal with this course seems to be to first help me, you, and every other blogger conquers time and blogging priorities. And then, she wants to help us set action-oriented goals—ones where we can physically track our progress—not just wish for more traffic.
Final Thoughts
If it wasn’t obvious enough, I’m a fan of Kim Anderson’s 12-Week Blog Growth Strategy. When it comes to blogging, being consistent and goal-oriented is key.
When you’re a new (or even intermediate) blogger, there are times when life gets in the way of consistency. And it’s easy to set goals as a blogger for things like traffic growth and subscribers—things you actually can’t control.
Kim really helps people like us set consistent action-oriented goals that make things—like more traffic, more subscribers, and more income—happen. And being able to strategically choose activities that give you the highest return on your time investment is invaluable.
If you’re a stuck blogger or you’re ready to hit that next growth milestone, check out this course. It will change your blogging game forever!
